PUPPY HEALTH AT PICKUP/SHIPPING
Sellers have, to the best of their knowledge and ability, made a good faith effort to determine that the Puppy’s dam and sire are free of inherited genetic disease and have made this information available to Buyer. Buyer, by signing this contract, acknowledges that he/she is aware that there are health problems that are not uncommon to the Golden Retriever breed. Some of these potential health problems are known to be genetic, some are believed to have some genetic predisposition, and the cause of others is unknown or is random in occurrence. The Seller guarantees the Puppy has been bred in such a manner as to ensure it is in good health.
Buyer understands and acknowledges that Sellers cannot predetermine the outcome of the breeding and therefore can make no assurances that the Puppy will be free of inherited genetic or other disease, nor that the Puppy will meet Buyer’s expectations as respects conformation, performance, or temperament. The Buyer acknowledges that genetics cannot be guaranteed and that despite all the breeder’s best efforts, a genetic defect can still occur. The Seller will have the puppy examined by the Seller’s veterinarian prior to delivery, represented by a supporting veterinary report provided to the Buyer on the date of delivery. Buyer agrees to have the Puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian within 5 business days of receipt of the Puppy. If a genetic or congenital defect is found, the Buyer must provide the Seller by certified mail a written Veterinarian’s certificate stating the health concerns. The Buyer must, at the Seller’s expense, make the puppy available to the Buyer for independent testing to confirm condition. If the Puppy is confirmed to have an hereditary or congenital illness or defect, the Buyer may return the pet to the seller and shall be entitled to a replacement puppy, subject to availability, free of charge.at the earliest opportunity.
Should the Buyer elect to keep the Puppy, the Buyer shall be entitled to another puppy at no charge, subject to availability, from a future breeding to be determined mutually by the seller and the buyer. Should the Buyer elect to keep the puppy despite its condition, under no circumstances will Seller be responsible for veterinary bills resulting from any such condition.
All puppies are treated for worms, giardia, and coccidia (the latter two are always present in every dogs gut, usually dormant, but activated by stress). The Buyer acknowledges that despite the best efforts of the Seller, parasites are still possible within the puppy. The buyer acknowledges this possibility and recognizes that treatment for parasites is a standard part of a pet’s care and maintenance and shall hold the Seller blameless should a parasite other than heartworm be found within the animal.
The Buyer agrees not to intentionally use the Puppy (female or male) for breeding purposes or make the dog available to anyone else for that purpose.
