Puppy Sales Contract
This sales contract Is between Susan Kassees (Seller) and (Print Buyer) for the purchase of a Golden Retriever puppy from the mating of the sire and dam identified.

SELLER’S ACKNOWEDGEMENTS
In consideration of payment in full of the purchase price of Three Thousand and Seventy Dollars ($3,070.00)t A Five hundred-dollars ($500) nonrefundable deposit submitted with this signed contract and the balance of Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($2,570.00) due prior to taking possession of said puppy. Seller agrees to transfer to Buyer, subject to the terms and conditions contained in this contract, the ownership of one female/male Golden Retriever puppy, herein after referred to as the “Puppy” regardless of age, below:
At time of delivery the Puppy will have its first shot, be micro-chipped, be treated for giardia & coccidia, and wormed. The puppy shale be registered (Limited Registrations only) by the Seller with the AKC and the microchip information shall be registered with AKC reunite.
PICKUP/DELIVERY
As soon as is reasonably possible around 8 weeks of age or after, Sellers will make the Puppy available to be picked up by the Buyer at Seller’s location, or the Seller will deliver puppy to the Buyer for an agreed upon transportation fee based on time, mileage, health certificate, kennels and travel expenses (food, lodging). Said transportation fee shall be agreed upon and must be paid in full prior to commencement of delivery. Buyer shall responsible for the puppy from the time of delivery commencement (that is the time the puppy leaves the seller’s location) until the puppy is received by the Buyer. Should any unforeseen event prevent delivery completion, the transportation fee, less the cost of kennel and health certificate shall be refunded by the Seller to the Buyer.
PUPPY HEALTH AT PICKUP/SHIPPING
Sellers have, to the best of their knowledge and ability, made a good faith effort to determine that the Puppy’s dam and sire are free of inherited genetic disease and have made this information available to Buyer. Buyer, by signing this contract, acknowledges that he/she is aware that there are health problems that are not uncommon to the Golden Retriever breed. Some of these potential health problems are known to be genetic, some are believed to have some genetic predisposition, and the cause of others is unknown or is random in occurrence. The Seller guarantees the Puppy has been bred in such a manner as to ensure it is in good health.
BUYER’S ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
_____ Health
Buyer understands and acknowledges that Sellers cannot predetermine the outcome of the breeding and therefore can make no assurances that the Puppy will be free of inherited genetic or other disease, nor that the Puppy will meet Buyer’s expectations as respects conformation, performance, or temperament. The Buyer acknowledges that genetics cannot be guaranteed and that despite all the breeder’s best efforts, a genetic defect can still occur. The Seller will have the puppy examined by the Seller’s veterinarian prior to delivery, represented by a supporting veterinary report provided to the Buyer on the date of delivery. Buyer agrees to have the Puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian within 5 business days of receipt of the Puppy. If a genetic or congenital defect is found, the Buyer must provide the Seller by certified mail a written Veterinarian’s certificate stating the health concerns. The Buyer must, at the Seller’s expense, make the puppy available to the Buyer for independent testing to confirm condition. If the Puppy is confirmed to have an hereditary or congenital illness or defect, the Buyer may return the pet to the seller and shall be entitled to a replacement puppy, subject to availability, free of charge.at the earliest opportunity.
Should the Buyer elect to keep the Puppy, the Buyer shall be entitled to another puppy at no charge, subject to availability, from a future breeding to be determined mutually by the seller and the buyer. Should the Buyer elect to keep the puppy despite its condition, under no circumstances will Seller be responsible for veterinary bills resulting from any such condition.
All puppies are treated for worms, giardia, and coccidia (the latter two are always present in every dogs gut, usually dormant, but activated by stress). The Buyer acknowledges that despite the best efforts of the Seller, parasites are still possible within the puppy. The buyer acknowledges this possibility and recognizes that treatment for parasites is a standard part of a pet’s care and maintenance and shall hold the Seller blameless should a parasite other than heartworm be found within the animal.
_____ BREEDING
The Buyer agrees not to intentionally use the Puppy (female or male) for breeding purposes or make the dog available to anyone else for that purpose.
_____ BUYERS RESPONSIBILITIES
- Buyer agrees to conduct him/herself as a responsible dog owner and shall maintain the Puppy in good condition, including adherence to a regular immunization schedule, heartworm preventative, parvovirus preventatives, good diet, and a clean and safe environment.
- Buyer agrees that Buyer is solely responsible for all costs and expenses of and related to the ownership of the Puppy including but not limited to feeding, veterinary care and training.
- Buyer agrees that Buyer is solely responsible for any and all actions of the Puppy and holds Sellers blameless from any and all claims for bodily injury and/or property damages caused or alleged against the dog.
_____ Dog Return
This dog is being sold with the intention of providing companionship to the specific Buyer named in this contract. If for any reason the buyer cannot or will not continue to care for the dog, the Buyer agrees to return the dog to the Seller without compensation. The Seller agrees to find the dog a vetted good and loving home. Ownership and care of this dog may not be transferred or assigned without the expressed written approval of a representative of Millennium Golden Retrievers.
_____ Modifications & Jurisdictions
- This contract may not be modified or voided unless agreed to in writing by both the parties.
- It is agreed that the venue for any disputes that may arise out of this contract shall be in Fannin County, Texas and all disputes shall be governed by the laws of Fannin County and of the State of Texas.
- By signing the Contract of Sale, Buyer accepts all conditions contained herein.
